Spotlight - Probiotic Tortillas
On July 19th 2010, El Lago launched a family of probiotic tortillas in Texas. These tortillas have the benefits of the same probiotic bacteria that have been in yogurts over the years. (Please see the benefits of probiotics listed below) The probiotic tortillas will be available at HEBs in central Texas from Buda to Temple and Bastrop to Marble Falls.
El Lago has been locally owned and operated in downtown Austin since 1967. Our tortillas, tortilla chips and masa are made fresh daily using the finest ingredients resulting in a homemade texture and taste. Our product line is a home style Mexican food brand that crosses categories. The line includes tortilla chips, corn and flour tortillas, taco and chalupa shells, dips, tostadas, spices and Mexican sodas.
The corn tortillas are made to duplicate the traditional homemade staple that has been served for decades throughout Mexico. They stay soft and moist for table use. Authentic recipes are used in our tortillas. Corn tortillas and tortilla chips are from pure stone ground corn flour made in our factory.
The stone-ground white corn chips are cooked in 100% canola oil for the lowest saturated fat and light taste. The chips have a true corn flavor with no preservatives, no cholesterol, no trans-fats, and less than 1% saturated fat. Our tortilla chips are widely known as “The Restaurant Chip”.
